Legendary Recording Artist and Multi-Gifted Entertainer
An iconic force in the Tejano Music industry, Laura Linda Cervera-Escalante marked her compelling return with the December 27, 2019 release of “Quitame Ese Hombre.” Premiered on San Antonio’s KLMO 98.9 FM Morning Show and produced by the renowned Brando Mireles, Jr. and Manuel Garza of MG Records, it quickly earned a Tejano Music Awards finalist position for Song of The Year by the TTMA in 2020.
The momentum continued as Laura released “Yo No Soy de Nadie” in March 2021, its video making a grand debut in Houston. This was shortly followed by “Te Metiste,” which she introduced at the TTMA Summer Fan Fair. By December 2021, “El Besito” graced the airwaves, its video securing the top spot on Mas Chingon Radio’s countdown by January 2022. In a further testament to her talent, her April 2022 release, “Tu Eres Mi Hombre y Yo Soy Tu Mujer,” charted at number three on the Tejano Gold Countdown.
Venturing into the regional Mexican music genre, Laura unveiled “Ni Un Tequila” in September 2022 and by May 2023, “Cuidarte El Alma” saw its official release. Her unwavering talent and dedication were acknowledged when she clinched the All Star Music Awards’ Best Female Entertainer of the Year Award in the same month.
Adding to her list of accolades, San Antonio Monthly Magazine recognized her prowess beyond music, naming her the 2023 Socialite of the Year on October 6, 2023.
Laura’s two-decade sabbatical was anything but idle. She directed the Dallas Sunset High School Bisonette Drill Team, nurtured her daughter, Gianna Sky, earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas, and founded the Cervera Dance Company.
Her earlier days saw her touring the Country Music circuits with luminaries like Mark Chesnutt and Tim McGraw before making a splash in Tejano with hits such as “Sufro Por Ti.” She has graced stages with Tejano legends and made memorable TV appearances on platforms like TMA TV and Johnny Canales.
Sharing her life with me, Luis Escalante, Jr., since March 21, 2020, we find joy in Dallas, Texas, with our daughter, Gianna Sky. Laura Linda, with gratitude to the Lord, the unwavering support of her family, and her fans, continues to epitomize dedication and excellence in the music world.
